Jean-Pierre Jeunet

Jean-Pierre Jeunet has directed some great films. The photography in Delicatessen and The city of Lost Children is beautiful. I added one of his short films Foutaises. It's quite dark but it was the only one with english subtitles. You'll recognise the sketch if you have seen Amelie.

Empires Estates and Buildings

The Euston tower is high. It's got great views of London. I was told it was as high or higher than the eye. But unlike the eye I had the pleasure to be up on top of London town for 8 hours a day. what a joy!?! Atkins had a model of underground stations all in 3d with transparent street. I will find a way to get that. use it as a table. the thing was dope!! Second flik, one of britain's finest architecture. A housing estate in east London. I just love how some of these were built and the way they look. Finally Brixton's shady tower

Lipstick and Lace shoot

This is the first lot if pictures that came out of the shoot for Lipstick and Lace. All improvised having no lights, no background or fancy flashes. I was granted a couple of umbrellas to block of the sunbeams that came to annoy us later on in the days. Apart from battling with nature the background was 3 sheets of wallpaper stuck together with masking tape and the light was provided by god through a windowed roof (don't know what the proper name is). And a proper (or unproper in this caes) photoshoot with a woman in sexy dresses wouldn't be complete without a set of builders peering through from the building site opposite.

Lessons of Darkness (1992)

In the aftermath of the Gulf War, retreating Iraqi soldiers left the oil fields of Kuwait a raging inferno. True to form as perhaps the world's most death-defying filmmaker, Werner Herzog and a small camera crew arrived on the scene to film the carnage. What resulted was Lessons of Darkness. Less a simple documentary about an environmental catastrophe than it is an apocalyptic vision of hell, Herzog has created a science fiction film, in which our planet vanishes beneath pillars of flame, oceans of oil, and impenetrable clouds of smoke. Punctuated by soaring music and Herzog's own commentary, Lessons of Darkness is a powerful, breathtaking and strangely beautiful portrait of a world on fire.

Petition against new restrictions on photography

Petition the prime minister to remove new restrictions on photography in public places

On the 16th of February, the Government passed a law (in the Counter Terrorism Act) making it illegal to take a photograph of a police office, military personnel or member of the intelligence services - or a photograph which "may be of use for terrorism". This definition is vague at best, and open to interpretation by the police - who under Home Secretary guidelines can "restrict photography in public places".

We call for these vague restrictions to be lifted, as they can easily be mis-used by the police.

Sport

I have been getting back into doing more exercise and less drinking. The weather is getting better and it'll be time to hit the courts again soon and play some ball. I dug out some old and less old photos...Bath Rugby, a place posh enough to have a tennis court in the garden, Basketball in Clapham Common, and Tim Tutak skating for AUX
